"Second-hand clothes bought cheaply simply have to be altered if they do not fit precisely or correspond to what the artist had in mind (which they rarely do): trousers are taken up, shoulder pads removed, buttons or sewn-on adornments cut off. Some of these processes of alteration are documented by the artist. It's a mischievous game with the 'disenchantment' of the art object, as initiated by Duchamp yet taken one step further; a game with the production or affirmation of art that does not necessarily signal the fact that it is art."
