"Most of the postcards date mainly from the 60s and 70s, the beginning of the economic boom and also of tourist holidays and city sightseeing trips, hikes and visits to spa resorts. On the one hand these anachronistic picture postcards bear witness to a bygone age (and often the original sender’s message is still intact on the back); on the other they have that curious aura that attaches to exhibits stored in boxes, cupboards or crates. The aesthetic criteria that make each postcard worth collecting are their colourfulness, a single descendingly depicted motif; no writing and no added graphics." Ulrike Matzer
