Bathtub was a room installation for „Private Plot“, which took place in the Böhmer-Palace in Vienna, 1995. In the until recently occupied grand appartments the bathroom is the last one to be entered. The spherical lights above the twin wash basins are permanently burning. The bathtub is filled with water. The black plug swims on the water. The chain keeps it perpendicular above the sink, which it really should be blocking. The chain is taut, its length correspons to the water level. The sink is open, yet the water does not drain: a sheet of glass invisible to the spectator prevents it from doing so. (translation: Herb Holzinger)
